Artist's Comments

Learned from the first one and adjusted some things, including brightening the colors for the bird, flipping it the other way, and changing some of the angles from the reference (Walter Foster Chinese Brush Painting) for the hummingbird.

And, again, the branches and blossoms I'm just... kinda doing now. It's more fun that way.

This is for Akuni, too.

I am so spoiled. This is lovely! All the colours work so well together. I agree it works better with this orientation on the page, and with the white space situated where it is.

I'm going to be so proud to have these on my wall. :)

 Wonderful. I'm very glad that you like it so much! *dances*

Good that you like the orientation and spacing.

*blushes* at the last. I'm glad you like them.
:iconliralenli:
*smiles* Yeah, I'm gradually getting better at making the colors good and vivid rather than washing out when they dry.

*happies*

And, yeah, the bird's proportions were a bear to do, but I'm so glad it finally worked out.

Thank you, so much!

I'm so glad you posted this.

I really love the whole thing but my favorite bit is the beautiful blending of colors on the branch.

MMmm.... yeah. I'm getting better at that making the colors blend more thoroughly on the brush before painting with them. It's good for leaves, and it's really important for other flowers, like the orchids, and I think an iris would be more fun with that kind of blending, too. I'll have to see.

I need to probably do a peony or two, or a magnolia with the red at the center and near white pink at the edges. *thoughtfuls*

Thank you, very much!!

And, oddly enough, it turns out that because I posted these little hummers, someone's actually posted about me on one of the more active accounts. Goodness.

I really, really like this. When you first put this up on LJ, I was amazed. Now I see it again, in better quality and larger this time, and I'm even more amazed. It's just so beautifully done. There's so much finesse in there it astonishes me. Definitely worth a fav.
